Gameday Fastpitch on Android

Status as of September 2026.

The short version: there is an Android build, and it is on an internal testing track — not on Google Play where you could go and install it. So the honest answer today is to run Gameday Fastpitch in your browser, which is a real answer and not a consolation prize: same app, same scoring, same offline behaviour.

Run it from your browser instead

Chrome on Android installs a web app properly. Once it's on your home screen it opens full-screen with no address bar, and you'd have to look closely to tell it apart from anything you got from a store.

Open softball.thegamedayapp.com in Chrome on your phone.
Tap the ⋮ menu in the top right, then Add to Home screen (some versions of Chrome call it Install app).
Confirm. An icon lands on your home screen alongside everything else.
Open it from that icon from now on — launched that way it runs full-screen and keeps its own data, which is what makes offline scoring work.

Does offline scoring really work in the browser?

Yes, and this is the part people assume must be the catch. Score a whole game with the phone in airplane mode and it syncs when you get service back. Softball complexes are built in the middle of fields and the signal is always terrible, so this was never optional.

What you don't get

Push notifications are the real difference. A web app on Android can do them, but they are less reliable than the native ones and Android is more willing to put them to sleep. If your club leans on notifications for "field 3, not field 1, we start in twenty minutes", that is worth knowing before the weekend.

Getting on the tester list

The internal track can take testers. Email hello@thegamedayapp.com with the Google account address you use on your phone and we'll add you — that address is what Play checks, so it has to be the one on the device. It is a testing build, so expect it to change under you.

What about iPhone?

Gameday Fastpitch is on the App Store and has been since September 2026. It's an iPhone app — there's no iPad version. iPhone users can also use the browser route above if they'd rather not install anything.

And the baseball app?

Different app, different listing, and it is further along on Android: Gameday Baseball is on Google Play today. If you are here for softball, that one won't help you — it plays nine innings and thinks your pitcher throws overhand.
